I am in my 50's and ride a road bike about 3 times a week. I was looking for bike shorts that were comfortable, looked nice but were not so restricting. I am not a small woman so I feel very self conscious in regular tight bike shorts. After reading the reviews, I decided to buy these in the "Paloma" color. I wore them on a ride the same day that I received them in the mail. I loved them so much that I came home and ordered a second pair. Today I wore them on a 25 mile ride. They are very comfortable. The inner liner is lightweight, has nice "seat" padding and is so comfortable to wear. The outer shorts are very lightweight, dry very easily and are very nice looking. I have already had a few compliments and have been asked if they were bike shorts. They look like regular shorts. The product said these were for mountain biking but they are just what I was looking for in a road bike short. After my charity ride today at a local winery, we had lunch and listened to a band. I was able to go from riding right to having lunch without changing and didn't feel like I was under dressed. I bought an x-large and they do fit as I had expected but I can see how some would feel the outer shorts may be too large. I don't like clingy clothes and like things that hang well. These hang well and look good on me.I was concerned about the sizing after reading other reviews, but I ordered anyway because the price was good. I ordered a small. The shorts fit great. I am 5'4", 123 pounds with 36 inch hips and big thighs. The liner is comfortably snug - like a liner is supposed to be. If anything, the shorts are a bit big around the waist but they have belt loops and look nice. I love the removable liner. Now I can turn my favorite hiking shorts into mountain bike shorts. For me that's a win win. I rated 4 stars only because the outer shorts are 100% polyester and I'm not a big polyester fan - but I couldn't refuse the on-sale price. The price was worth getting the removable liner.I really like these shorts. I'm 5'7", about 140 lbs. The size Medium fit me well. As others have stated the inner shorts are very tight, especially at the waist, but I think they are wearable. Oddly, the leg openings aren't that tight (and I have thick legs) so they may ride up while on the bike. I have not used them on the bike yet as I currently have a broken clavicle. I love the adjustable waistband as my waist tends to run smaller than my butt. There are two inside buttons for the waist adjustment. I have ordered a second pair. Without the liner I think they will make great "all around" shorts for camping, hiking etc. They have side pockets, belt loops, are very comfortable, slightly stretchy, and I like the length for modest coverage. They look much more fitted and attractive than the photo indicates.First, I am female. My husband's name gets posted with my reviews for some reason. These are great shorts. I wear them every day. Comfortable. I don't use the liner. the only drawback is the snap won't stay snapped, so I pin the zipper. But I have so much trouble finding shorts that fit and are comfortable, I don't mind. Also, pockets are shallow, but they are women's shorts.Love these. Similar to a pair I got years ago from LLBean. I am 5’8” 168, size 14 and got XL. Perfect fit. The liner fit fine too. I prefer this style to wearing tight form fitting bike shorts. There are two pockets but no zip pockets. The only suggestion on improvement would be a small zip pocket somewhere (lower leg, etc). I recommend these bike shorts.I like these shorts for mountain biking, I love the color, and I find them quite comfortable, and stylish. I feel like I could wear them casually, not just while riding my bike. I do wish the side pockets zipped, they kind of bulge out and look funny otherwise. They fit true to size, I am 5ft2in, 130lbs, wear size 6 normally, and ordered mdThese are really nice, well made shorts. They look good on and you can't really tell you are wearing a padded liner underneath. I bought 2 sizes since I wasn't sure and they were on super sale. I would say the Large is about a women's 10/12 and the XL 12/14. The liner is tight but it's supposed to be. The only thing I would change is to have rubber grippers on the leg openings in the liner to keep them from riding up. Remove the liner and they make great golf shorts too.Like them, the only things is the button strap broke the first time I wore them. I would buy more in other colors but they are a lot higher in price.
